Welcome to ‘Pjilasi Mi’kma’ki’, a bilingual Mi’kmaq/English podcast hosted by Annie Clair.

AnnieBioPhotoAnnie is a traditional Mi’kmaq woman from Elsipogtog First Nation, New Brunswick. She is a mother of four and a grandmother of three. She has been a suicide prevention worker and a youth worker, among other jobs.

The purpose of this podcast is to not only promote the preservation and continuation of the Mi’kmaq language, but also to discuss, truthfully, issues related to struggling to remain L’nu in the twenty first century.

We hope you enjoy this project and will continue to tune in to upcoming episodes.

  1. Hi Annie,

I am 1/16 Mikmaq ( the 1/16 I’m most proud of ) and interested in learning to speak Mikmaq, for both myself & my children ( 1 & 4 ). Do you know of any good learning resources I might consider? …audiobooks, podcasts, etc.

    Kurt 🙂
